My name is Vasilis Charalambous and I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Chemistry at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), in the field of Organic Chemistry. I graduated from the Department of Chemistry of NKUA, where my undergraduate thesis was conducted under the supervision of Professor Stamatia Vasiliou and was titled “Synthesis and applications of thiosemicarbazone derivatives.”
I am also a graduate of the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program “Organic Synthesis and its Applications in the Chemical Industry.” My Master's thesis, supervised by Professor Georgios Vogioukalakis, was titled “Synthesis of organic compounds with biological applications.”
Since October 2025, I have begun working on my doctoral dissertation, titled “New synthetic methodologies and synthesis of organic compounds with biological and technological applications,” in the research group of Professor Georgios Vogioukalakis.
My research interests focus on the synthesis of organic compounds that may exhibit technological or biological applications, the development of synthetic methodologies, as well as heterocyclic chemistry.
